Keegan Rice's Eagle Project at St. Catherine

Hello, I am Keegan Rice and I'm working on a fundraiser for my Boy Scout Eagle Scout project. For my project I am going to build a recycling center here at St. Catherine of Siena.

It will be located next to the dumpster enclosure at the back corner of the church parking lot and will allow us to recycle paper, glass and plastic after events in Russell Hall. We also will separate out bottles and cans to be returned so the proceeds can be used to support various ministries at our parish like the youth group.

 I decided that it would be appropriate to do something in regards to recycling to raise the funds needed for the project, so I am collecting returnable cans and bottles and with the help of fellow scouts will return them for the 5 cent deposit. 

We need to collect 16,000 cans and bottles to build the recycling center at St. Catherine.

You can help me by saving your returnable cans and bottles and bringing them to St. Catherine on the weekend of October 16 & 17. We will have scouts available to take the cans from your car for you before each of the Masses that weekend.

If you are unable to bring cans or bottles that weekend, we can accept donations. Please make check payable to "Boy Scout Troop 175" and drop them in the donation jar that weekend.

Progressive Dinner Announcement

Saturday, November 5^th

 

For the

2011 St. Catherine of Siena Progressive Dinner

“A Harvest Time Gathering”

 

Appetizers and Cocktails in Russell Hall 6:30 – 7:30 pm

Dinner to follow at Host Homes selected at the cocktail hour.

 

 

The evening’s menu includes:

Apricot Chicken Provencal

Pumpkin Orzo

Green Beans with Shallots

Harvest Salad with Maple Vinaigrette

Caramel Frosted Sweet Potato Cake

 

 

Hosts will be provided with recipes and ingredients for the meal as well as the wine selections. 

Guests will be requested to bring

an appetizer for the cocktail hour or the dessert for the evening.

 

 

To ensure a successful event we are in need of Host Homes

as well as volunteers to assist with set-up and clean-up.

 

 

$25 per person (No charge to the Host Homes)

Reservations can be made after all masses.

Please reserve no later than October 30^th.
