Every year St. Catherine of Siena creates a “Giving Tree” to provide toys for children from the inner-city
parish of Sacred Heart in Hartford. In addition, because it was hugely successful last year, we have decided to repeat our “Adopt-A-Family” program for the neediest families at Sacred Heart.
Beginning on November 28th, both the traditional “Giving Tree” and the “Adopt-A-Family Tree” will
be set up in the St. Catherine of Siena atrium and vestibule. When your family sponsors a Sacred Heart family this Christmas, they will be receiving ethnically appropriate food, gas cards, Walmart cards, and bus passes. Family sizes range from elderly individuals to a large family consisting of a grandmother and eight grandchildren.
