Dear Friends,
Once again, I come to wish you the many graces and blessing of a Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year. You are in my thoughts and prayers, especially at the altar.
I have enjoyed my ministry in two parishes where the Altar, Tabernacle, and Pulpit are on the same level. People are very kind and accepting, and I am grateful.
Of course, I am always appreciative of the companionship and goodness of my fellow priests here at St. Thomas, and I even continue to miss those who have gone to their Eternal Reward.
Besides, at this busy Archdiocesan Center, I am always blessed and cheered by so many dedicated people who work here – from the Rector to the Bosnian young ladies.
A happy surprise for me this year was to have our Archbishop present me with a plaque from Catholic Charities of Connecticut. These good people do so much for those with disabilities. It’s always a deep joy for me to serve the hamburgers and hot dogs with all the trimmings at their biannual outdoor dinner here at St. Thomas.
With prayerful good wishes,
Fr. Henry R. Dery
